Parent Partnerships for Student Success
Investing in our parents and carers is hugely beneficial to the achievement of our students. This is why we establish excellent partnerships with our families, with parents encouraged to come to school to share their views and support their child’s progress.
The James Hornsby School has clearly developed parent partnership with energy and commitment.
The well-established college system makes home-school dialogue both easy and effective, particularly as all siblings are in the same college and each college has vertical tutor groups.

Parents in Partnership
Parent voice is vitally important at James Hornsby; we value your support and welcome your input. Our established and very committed Parents in Partnership group has parent representatives from across the year groups and colleges who provide support, advice and information to parents and carers, and participate in changes to school policies and procedures. Representatives form part of the school’s governing body and take part in many of our adult learning opportunities.
The school has developed strong evaluative systems which, in many cases directly involve parents through Parent Voice/Parent in Partnership (PIP), for example in the reviewing and revising of policies. The school roll has increased considerably the recent Ofsted questionnaire show high levels of parental satisfaction. Leading Parent Partnership Award (2015)
