KS4 Sport Studies

Students have the option to study the Level 1 / 2  OCR Cambridge National Sports Studies course.

Within this course students will cover a range of topics, including the importance of warming up and injury prevention, technology used within sport and physical activity, leadership skills and how the media plays a role within sport. Sports studies is a practical subject, with students gaining valuable leadership skills and an opportunity to demonstrate their practical sporting ability.

ASSESSMENT

The course is split into 4 units:

  • 1 hour written exam: Contemporary issues in sport
  • Coursework: Sports Leadership
  • Coursework: Sport and the media
  • Coursework: Developing Sports Skills (practical unit)
