Enrichment at JHS
Duke of Edinburgh
The Duke of Edinburgh Award encourages young people to take on a challenge to find their true potential.
The DofE has been transformational in raising aspirations and developing skills that young people need to be resilient and productive citizens.
The DofE award requires a young person to complete three unique sections; volunteering, physical and a skills section before completing their expedition. The length of time required to be spent on each section and the length of the expedition depends on the award being completed. Students in year 9 and 10 at The James Hornsby School have the opportunity to complete their Bronze and Silver award.
DofE Lead 2020/21 - Miss Dellas
Students were highly committed and showed real grit and determination to complete the practice expedition and the final assessment on one of the hottest days of the year. We are all extremely proud of you and hope that you all return to complete your Silver next year.
