Attendance at James Hornsby School – Pupils’ value their education and rarely miss a day at school. Good attendance at James Hornsby School requires students to attend every possible session. Poor attendance will affect a student’s progress and outcomes as well as opportunities beyond the curriculum such as trips and visits. It is expected that students have good attendance and attitude at all times (attendance of 96% or better is required. Individual circumstances may be considered). Persistent absence will be monitored and if necessary, referrals and fines will be made through MECES. Students are expected to be punctual to school and lessons at all times, there is a 5 minute warning bell prior to each lesson.
